Two Comal ISD Students Named National Merit Scholars Two Comal ISD students have been named National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarship Program - Noah Bliss from Davenport High School and Mason Mock from Smithson Valley High School. Each received the National Merit $2,500 Scholarship.
Smithson Valley High School Key Club Receives Community Volunteer of the Year Award The Smithson Valley High School Key Club was recognized for continuously finding ways to serve others. The 44-student member group received the 2022 Community Volunteer of the Year award by the Bulverde Spring Branch Chamber of Commerce for its dedication to helping wherever it sees a need.
Canyon Lake Student Wins Second Major Rodeo Art show Canyon Lake High School senior Baten Evans won two of the largest rodeo art shows in the state of Texas this year with his unique metal sculptures. He now holds the record for the highest selling art piece by a Comal ISD student at $14,000.
Comal ISD Hosts Four Summer Job Fairs Comal ISD is hosting four job fairs this summer. The first two are in late May and the last two are in August. The fast-growing district is looking to hire for all positions.
PRMS Teacher A’ndrea Fisher is chosen as 2023 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow A’ndrea Fisher, GT teacher and our Teacher of the Year, has been chosen as a 2023 Grosvenor Teacher Fellow through the National Geographic Society. She will set out on an expedition this summer to Indonesia and Singapore in order to “further young people’s understanding of the planet and empower them to generate solutions for a healthier and more sustainable future.”
PRMS Student Artists are Top-scorers at Regional Jr. VASE Contest Art students from Pieper Ranch Middle School attended the Regional Jr. VASE contest this past weekend, March 25th. Each one of these talented artists brought home a medal for wowing the judges and earning the highest possible score.

Canyon Lake HS One-Act Play Wins 2nd Place at State This year's Canyon Lake High School one-act play made school history again, placing second in the State 4A UIL contest and walking away with several individual awards including Best Performer, All-Star Cast and Honorable Mention All-Star Cast.
April Board Recognitions Honor State Qualifiers and More The Board of Trustees recognized 140 students and teachers during its board meeting on April 27. State qualifiers in various activities were among the honorees including sports, fine arts and student organizations.
Theatre Department Receives Texas Thespians Premiere Award The Comal ISD theatre department became one of the first school districts to earn the Texas Thespians Premiere Communities for Theatre Education Award. This honor highlights the work that the 17 secondary theatre teachers do every day to showcase and hone student talent on the stage as well as behind the scenes.
