During the current school year, Comal ISD scheduled 10 early release days. Six of those 10 are set aside specifically for teachers to have the time to collaborate with each other, and the result of this collaboration time is an increase in student performance.

The competition was fierce during the second district-wide chess tournament Saturday, Feb. 23, at Smithson Valley High School. The final tournament is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, at Canyon High.

It lasted only 11 days, but its results are impressive. A student-led environmental campaign resulted in 88 boxes, 2,750 pairs or 5,500 shoes. They are now on their way to a non-profit organization which will repurpose and recycle every one.

Sixth graders across the district are getting the opportunity to view cultural, social and geographical artifacts from 25 countries in Africa, the Middle East and South-Central Asia through a traveling exhibit parked at their campuses.

Teachers, principals and volunteers were honored during the Comal ISD Council of PTA's Second Annual Founder's Day celebration at Canyon High School Thursday.

Sure, they may show animals at local and area stock shows taking home scholarship money for all their hard work, but FFA members today, do that and so much more.

On Tuesday, March 5th, PRMS will have a course selection and electives fair for all incoming students. This is an opportunity for students and parents to come and receive more information about the classes we offer here at Pieper Ranch.

Thirteen middle school students showed off their extemporaneous speaking skills Friday as they competed in the Second Annual Comal Speaks contest.

Hoffmann Lane Elementary teacher Rishanne Frech and Spring Branch Middle teacher and coach Tyler Clements were named District Teachers of the Year for the Comal Independent School District.

Five Pieper Ranch Middle School students qualified to attend State SkillsUSA this coming April after placing at the SkillsUSA District competition last month.
