The Comal Independent School District is offering free summer meals for children 18 and under starting Monday, June 10, at two locations, Morningside Elementary and Canyon Middle School.
“We are inviting all children who are 18 and younger to join us Monday through Thursday for breakfast and lunch and enjoy a hot meal,” says Kimberly McKinley, Comal ISD wellness coordinator.
This summer’s program begins Monday, June 10, and runs through June 27, with additional dates at Morningside Elementary in July.
Morningside Elementary location: breakfast is 7:30-8:30 a.m.; lunch is 10:30 a.m. to noon, June 10-27, July 1-3 and July 8-11. Closed Fridays.
Canyon Middle School location: breakfast is 7:30-8:30 a.m.; lunch is 11 a.m. to noon, June 10-27. Closed Fridays.
The summer menu includes breakfast and lunch favorites such as confetti pancakes, breakfast pizza, French toast sticks, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, pizza, chicken sandwiches and chicken nuggets. The Comal ISD has been offering the summer meals program for six years.
